This weekend sucked!

Well this weekend kinda sucked. Saturday night we had a bad storm, the lights flickered and my computer just shut off. I was like wth?? I thought I fried my pc, and that meant I probably wouldn’t have internet access for a few days to a week, but the backup battery wasn’t making that annoying beep sound. So it ended up just being the backup battery, and I was on again the next day.

It’s times like that when you realize how addicted you are to the internet. I swear I was twitching from not being able to come online that night. I wanted to check email, stats, make my normal rounds (Yahoo, ICHC, DA) and things like that, but nope. I’m just glad the electricity didn’t go out because I would have ended up having to just sit there in the dark. *L*

And Sunday I tried a new recipe, which was a total let down. Crockpot Chicken Cordon Bleu. I’ve made it before the regular way (stove, etc.) but the crockpot way was bad. Bland. I didn’t even bother taking photos. And I’m thinking that since this is the second recipe in a row from that site that went bad I guess it’s time to find a new site. Hopefully next Sunday will go better.

So with all that and those wonderful cramps us women have to endure each and every damn month, this weekend sucked. I hope you had a better weekend than I had!

Sunday Recipes

bren Avatar

Sundays have now become my day to experiment with different recipes. I like to cook (although I love baking more) and I’m having fun finding new things. This Sunday I made a French dish called Beef Bourguignon with Red Wine.

It came out “o.k”, but not a great tasting dish that I’m likely to make again. I thought the red wine gave it a weird taste, but when everything was mixed with rice it wasn’t half bad (and that’s real rice, not minute rice). I was in the kitchen putting this dish together for almost an hour, and I was hoping it would have come out better than that. But no, I’m not going to be making this one again.

The idea is to experiment and try new things, so it’s all good.

Last week I tried Beverly’s Unbelievably Moist Crockpot Pork Chops. I laugh at the title of that one. lol But it was an easy dish to prepare and tasted ‘unbelievably’ yummy. I’ll probably make this one again.

Funny. The one you spend the least amount of time on tastes the best.

Now I’m off to search for another recipe. :) And hopefully next week I’ll remember to take pictures, and post these on the right day.
