American Idol - 5/21/08 Final Elimination

Well, after weeks of auditions, trials and voting it has finally come down to the final two contestants. David Cook and David Archuleta have both come a long way since the start and are both extraordinary singers.
- Cook sang: “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” “Dream Big” and “The World I know”
- Archuleta sang: “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me,” “In This Moment” and “Imagine”
This is a very tough call and one very close matchup. They are both very deserving in their own rights to win the competition. Both of them have been strong from day one and never truly failed to impress on any songs they sang.
If I did however have to choose a winner, I’m going to have to say David Archuleta. Not because he is a better singer (however he did seem to have a stronger showing on the final night of singing), but it seems to me he has a bigger fanbase than Cook. He always seems to get the loudest cheers and most little girls screaming. I could be way off base though, but the impression I get is that Archuleta is going to win.
Either way I couldn’t be happier with the final two, whoever wins it doesn’t even matter; they’re both going to get picked up by record labels without a doubt.

I’m so glad it’s them two remaining. And I agree with you; doesn’t matter who wins now really. They are both such good singers.
Did you notice though that the judges seemed to be manipulating the people by what they were saying? (critiques) I got that impression anyways. The way they favored David A. was a little annoying to me. They seemed to bash Cook way too much when he didn’t deserve it. I dunno what it is…I guess they see (err hear) something we don’t? I thought they both did so well last night.
It’s going to be neat seeing the 12 all up there again too. I can’t wait for tonight.

hmmm they did seem slanted towards Archuleta, I didn’t like all the negatives they gave cook. It really was odd and kinda unfair that they did that.
I’m not looking forward to seeing Castro and Brooke again. (lol) Hopefully Carly will give you goosebumps. (lmao)

OH yeah, I remember that. ugh and it showed Brooke crying or something when she got accepted into the top 24 (or was it 12? when they came out of the elevators). lol

lol There isn’t much else on right now, and I’m sure as hell not gonna watch ‘Farmer Wants a Wife.’ This season is pretty good though because they actually have two very good singers in the final two.
