American Idol - 4/30/08
[ Edit: Brooke White was eliminated ]
This week’s Idol theme was Neil Diamond songs. Each person sang two songs each. Went smoothly besides Paula having a brain-lapse at half time and thinking Castro sang twice. Guess they were moving too fast for her, or maybe she just wanted Castro’s turn to be over already.
Jason Castro: Castro sang Forever in Blue Jeans and September Morning. Yet again, Castro clearly shows his lack of skill at being a vocalist. Both performances were easily forgettable and very boring. Why is this ‘tard still in the competition?
David Cook: David sang both I’m Alive and All I Really Need Is You. Again, Cook is the man and his performances were excellent on each count.
Brooke White: Brooke murdered, er, sang I’m A Believer and I Am I Said. God, what is there really to say about her? She still can’t remember lyrics, had to write some on her hands. The playing of instruments by her is getting old as well. It just distracts her and makes her sing even worse. Focus on SINGING, not playing. She’s also boring to watch, just stands (or sits) there motionless. Her vocals are bad, her performance is bad. How is she still in this as well?
David Archuleta: Archuleta sang Sweet Caroline and Coming to America. Along with Cook, this David shows he has the talent and what it takes to win Idol. His performances were great tonight. He didn’t seem to be as shy as normal either, which is good.
Syesha Mercado: Syesha sang Hello Again and Thank the Lord for the Night. Her performances like previous ones were good, but she doesn’t seem to really stand out.
I’m betting the bottom two are going to be Brooke again, and probably Syesha. Hopefully Brooke will finally get knocked off.
I’d prefer to see Castro get his lame ass kicked out, really getting sick of him. Just can’t see it happening.
